19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term mentor Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has secured 21 titles at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the player has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.
Both players exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet rescued four early-game break points in a tight final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
